For the last several weeks, I have been working on a forgiveness project. I have been pushed by Spirit to do this for some time. Why “Forgiveness”? And why now?

I don’t really know. We have always been invited to live a forgiving life. Some of us do, many of us don’t. So, I am wondering what I have left to forgive. You did know that teachers talk about what they need to learn the most. .

One thing that bothers me about forgiveness, is the space we often are in when we practice forgiveness. Many times, maybe most times, forgiveness is done from our lack or hurt. It is very difficult to forgive from that place.

I would propose that we should come from the space of love. Love is the space for perfect forgiveness. How do you get to “Love” when there can be so much pain involved?

We are adults. As adults we are 100% responsible for our live and experiences. Some experience connections, may seem a little obtuse. In other words, we can’t fathom how we could be part of manifesting an experience, say a car accident. If we are truthful, we can see where we might have contributed to the situation by not paying attention for example. Sometimes we are part of a situation for some greater learning. Sometimes on a soul level we agree to participate for the other person/s to learn some lesson.

First take responsibility for being in a situation. That can be as simple as, “I don’t remember agreeing to this, but here I am. Now I will make the highest choices I can make.” These choices include our emotional state, our thoughts and our actions. Being able to make this decision is a big step.

When you are in a situation where you have experienced some form of “harm”, it can lead you down a very slippery mental/emotional slope. Negative thinking and the sister experience of negative emotions can spring up fast. If you have the propensity to do this, I invite you to stop. Make a choice at least to go into neutral. That would be “non-judgement” thought and neutral or even curious emotions. You will make better choices from neutral than you will from anger, rage, or depression.

Tomorrow I will talk about creating a space of Love within you.

Blessings, Mary Pat

I have had a very interesting January 2012. Everything has stopped! Yes,I mean that. Life has very much slowed down for me. What do you do when everything either slows way down and/or stops? …You blog!

5 Tips for Successful Forgiveness

Last fall, I left my hospice nursing position to pursue my interest in energy healing. The part-time (really full time) job was diverting me from my goals. I was being limited as to how much I could do energy healing for our patients and I was told that I could no longer teach. Hmmm?!

I would say that was a very strong invitation from the universe to leave. Luckily, I had the space to do that, so I did leave.

I started to work at Emma’s Center in Harrisburg, PA in the fall. I was reasonably busy for just returning to Harrisburg. But, that dwindled for me as well as the center as the end of the year approached. My friend asked me to hold off for the rest of the winter. She has a bunch of unusual happenings at home and needs to attend to them without another practitioner around. Hmmm.

In December, I returned to Japan to teach my basic healing class. It was a fantastic trip. The 5 day workshop sold out. The personal sessions also sold out. I had waiting lists for both, something that I have desired for some time. Thank you. Everything went well and smoothly. (No earth changes like in March 2011).

Did you every want to write a book? I did. About 2 years ago I wrote an ebook “Healthy Weight Loss For Boomer Women” for an internet course I did at the time. Sold a couple of copies. Still a good read. I am working on another book with a girl friend. We are almost done. She has to stop for the time being. Overwhelm in her life.
I am proceeding with getting the web site up and publishing in line for the big day. Currently, she has no time to talk or work on the book. It is so close. Hmmm.

What do you do? I started off with a goal sheet for the year. Albeit the book and practice have been moved back.

I have done a cleanse for the month. Why not clean out the insides. Check that out here: http://www.healthyweightlossforboomerwomen.com/blog/?p=562. The cleanse has required that I nap during the day. Running at full tilt for a long time will probably required an extended period of down time. I guess that now is the time.

Next I have decided to work on several projects. I will be working on my Health Works Energy Healing classes both basic updates and the advanced program.

Also, I am working on increasing my presence on the internet via blogs, and articles. I did my first video last week! It is 5 tips for Successful Forgiveness.

What do you do when everything stops? Take a break. Step back. And punt!

My all of you have a fabulous 2012.

Happy New Year! It is the first day of 2012! This is the much talked about year, the end of the Mayan Calendar. Hopefully it will be non-apocalyptic 2012!

Actually the year will be what it is. That we will have to find out as we move through the year. Many things are not “in stone” so to speak. That means it can be changed.

How can that be? Well, if we change our choices, the out come will change. If you always do what you always did and expect different results, you will be very disappointed. That actually is a definition of insanity.

But, if you make some different choices today, it can make a big difference down the road.

For example: If you start meditating on a daily basis, you may notice a peace and calm that envelops you. If you were to stop meditating, you might find that you are less friendly, more curt, or just unhappy.

If you are experiencing more peace and calm in your life, you will make different choices than if you are unhappy. Think about it.

Today is Friday, October 28, 2011. According to Carl Calleman we are at the end of the Ninth Wave of the Mayan calendar.

What does that mean? Well, I really don’t know. We are moving from separation into unity consciousness. We are moving from “me-me-me” to “us” thinking and living.

We humans have continually raped the planet for our own needs and greeds. We want more money, more status, more and better cars and houses and too much food. We are getting sicker physically, mentally and spiritually.

We are becoming more separated. The economy is very unstable. People are out of work and can’t find work in the traditional sense. College graduates can’t find work. Companies that would have snapped them up are simply not hiring. People in their 50′s are out of work. It is their most productive years just before retirement… no work.

Health care. USA has the most expensive health care in the world. In 2000, we ranged 37th in the world for health as a nation. Natural means for attaining good food and health are continually under fire by the government, Monsanto and pharmaceutical companies. They do not care about yours and my well being. They care about making money.

The planet has no more to give to us. Government and big business can not longer ride on the backs of the people. Things will need to be different.

It does not have to be a horrible change. It might be. It probably will be. But it doesn’t have to be.

Look at your own life. Where are you out of balance? What can you do to bring back balance to your life? What can you give back to the community? Do you need a flood or other disaster to get out and meet your neighbors?

Look at buying local food and services. Consider using less and living more. How about a conversation in the living room rather than texting. Face to face is always good.

Be open. Be alert. Look for ways to be “us” and inclusive. Forgive everything. Love everything.

Blessings as we begin the unity wave. Mary Pat

I have incorporated under HealthWorks Energy Healing LLC. Wow, is all I can say. What is HealthWorks Energy Healing LLC? Thought you would never ask.

Health works folks. Life works. Health and Life are good barometers to how well you are in balance. When you are stressed, you are out of balance. When you are sick, you are out of balance. When life is all wrong, you are out of balance. All these things are invitations to return to balance.

I do energy healing. I work in the energies that surround and penetrate the physical body. I use my hands and intention to remove energy blocks and return the person to balance.

I also work with the person to uncover the limiting belief behind the pain. We work with thoughts and emotions. Thoughts and emotions work as a team. Positive one raise your vibration and brings you into balance. Negative ones lower your vibrations and move you out of balance.

There are 4 things that I will do in the new year for my health. they are diet, exercise, meditation/relaxation and work.

1. I have been playing around with macrobiotic meals. I am incorporating usually 6-7 meals a week. My plan is to start eating macrobiotic for the month January to see how it goes. Big challenges here are no coffee…(I LOVE coffee and real cream), how do I do a macro lunch when I never have time to stop for lunch (usually a PBJ driving between pt’s?)

2. I also plan on bumping up my exercise time as that has fallen off (like off the planet, LOL). So here goes: minimum of 30minutes per day of walking, elliptical or DVD exercise 6 days a week.

3. Meditation/relaxation. I have been doing progressive relaxation 1-2x day. I will continue that. I am now noticing how tense I keep my insides and I can make the choice to relax. If feels very different. I will keep going until I don’t tense my insides.

4. Work only my scheduled hours. I love my patients and co-workers. I have been working extra to try and meet everybody’s needs. Now it is time to strike a balance between what I think their needs are and what my needs are. I have been under a lot of stress the last 2-3 years. It is time to change and take care of myself. Otherwise I will get sick. Trust me, there is no one who can take care of me like I can! Besides, who wants to create illness to have the excuse to finally take care of themself???? It is really easier to just take care of yourself and leave off the illness.

What is your New Year resolution? So what if you have to adjust after the new year. You will never move ahead if you refuse to make changes.

Blessings for the Best Year Ever.

I read this great article: Six Ways to Think Outside the Box
by Kevin Eikenberry on August 2, 2010. Go and read it.

I am doing a vision board for my hospice. I am a staff RN and attempting to create a new vision for our hospice. It is an interesting place (in the pecking order) to do this work. It is easy for the staff to get bogged down in the day-to-day drama and forget that we are visioning.

Many years ago I tried this technique for generating ideas. I would put a question or problem statement on the top of a pad of paper. I would start writing possible solutions to my issue. I would write for 20 minutes. Then I would stop. The writing might look like: I could do “A”, I could do “b”, I could do “c”, this is the stupidest thing I’ve ever done, I could do “cdf” etc and so forth.

The most interesting thing happened. I started to get so many ideas. I could not stop them. I would get 100′s of ideas in a day. Some were great ideas and some far out. So what. At the time key people in my life just laughed at me. I let that stop me. I think that I will start doing this again.

You have lost your job and there seems to be nothing on the horizon. Are you into the “woe is me” and “my life is ruined” thinking?

Last August 2009, my husband was released from a profession job. We had moved to the area 16 months earlier for this job. It is devastating at any age and particularly when it occurs in the mid 50 age. As the wife of the recently unemployed, I am also very stressed. I have my own professional dreams and goals and I think they may be going down the drain.

I was talking to a professional colleague. I was in the negative self talk. “My husband doesn’t have a job, woe is me”. She called me on it and rightly so.

My friend is right. What we think about and talk about is what we get. It is the Law of Attraction.

Most of the time I do pretty well. I realize that my husband and I have been carried. Don’t know how, but we have. Sometimes I get so discouraged. I feel like I have been standing on shifting sands for a long time.

My friend got me to thinking. When we feel good about ourselves we are connected to Source (Divine or God and Mother Earth). We get our spiritual energy for God, if you will . It comes from above our head down into our heart. Our physical body draws energy from the center of the earth up into our hearts. In those times we feel good about ourselves, we have a continual ‘source’ of energy from above and below.

When we get scared, we un-ground and break our connection with Source. There is no longer a ‘source’ of energy. As people, we have learned that it can be easier to take “your” energy than reconnect ourselves. Negative thinking, emotions and self talk is a way of creating a cord that attaches to someone else’s energy field. In that moment we (I) become a “vampire” stealing energy. Oh, what a thought that I could steal energy.

We as a people are so enmeshed in the “system” that we forget that we are 100% responsible for our lives. When the “system” spits us out, we get confused. We forget that we are responsible for self. It is easy to slip into “woe is me” and victim thinking.

There are moments that life sucks. The less time we spend in “life sucks” the better. When we have a setback, it is an opportunity to rethink our goals and reprioritize our lives. It is also an opportunity to trim the fat, so to speak. My husband and I are cleaning house. We are getting rid of a lot of things that no longer serve us. It is interesting to watch each other’s process. Each of us is going through the grieving process. We are never in the same spot at the same time.

The house is on the market. We have a back up plans A, B, and “seat of our pants”. The thing to remember is that every negative thought moves us closer to ruin and the “poor house.” Every positive thought and comment moves us closer to the next fabulous opportunity and new life.

Think positive. Dream positive. Then figure out the steps that will lead you to your knew dream.

How do you think about money? Is money your friend? Or is money and evil lurking around every corner (coming from the belief that money is the root of all evils)? This article is about belief systems that hold us back.

Money is just energy. As humans we have the right and responsibility to learn how to use money to our benefit and the benefit of others. You can’t be a good steward if you are afraid the thing of that which you are a steward.

In “Rich Dad Poor Dad” Robert T Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter, CPA explore what it is to work with money from the point of view of being rich and the rest of us. That is the beauty of this book. Twenty percent of the population makes eighty percent of the wealth. That is the 80/20 rule. If you are in the 80% making 20% of wealth, you may have judgments about that other group. But have you walked in their shoes?

Kiyosaki tells his story about growing up in a “regular” money household. For most of us we go to school, get an education, get a job, earn money, and pay taxes and the bills. Hopefully we save some money for the kids college and retirement. The masses: some make and have a little money, some eke by and many rely on government entitlements to make it to the grave.

Kiyosaki also tells about his friend’s dad who was “rich”. He knew how to work with money, play with money concepts, be with money and have money work for him. Kiyosaki had the best of both worlds. He could see where life would take him if he chose to be afraid of money.

He chose to learn about money. This book is about his journey. It is filled with stories as he learned how to make money, as well as stories where he helped others learn about money. Kiyosaki also gives his 10 point plan for getting started and staying on track.

1. “I NEED A REASON GREATER THAN REALITY” The dream can be great! But do you have the stuff to keep going when reality steps in?
2. “CHOOSE DAILY” You have to choose your dream every day. It is choosing to take the next step towards your dream every day, be it in thoughts, activities or learning.
3. “CHOOSE FRIENDS CAREFULLY” Pick friends that will support your. Share your dreams and process with people who support your and lift you up. Friends who are nay-says can stop a dream dead in its tracks. To keep on when reality sets in, you need good support.
4. “MASTER A FORMULA AND THEN LEARN A NEW ONE” Don’t reinvent the wheel. There are tried and true methods of making money (or reaching any dream). Find out the steps to your dream and learn them well. After that you can learn new or alternative ways to reach your dream.
5. “PAY YOUR SELF FIRST” I wish I followed that advice as a young women. This step is about self discipline. Saving (any amount) on a regular basis, no matter what financial pressures, will pay off big time in the end. Here he say that the 3 most important management skills to start a business are: management of cash flow, management of people, and management of personal time. Sounds like good personal stewardship to me.
6. “PAY YOUR BROKERS WELL” Your attorney accountant, real estate broker, stockbroker are professionals. They may be expensive but they should make you more money with their information. You usually get what you pay for. And until you are the expert, get good advice. It is well worth it.
7. “BE AN ‘INDIAN GIVER’” This isn’t what you might think. It is about getting something for nothing. You will have to read the section.
8. “ASSETS BUY LUXURIES” Don’t buy on credit. Buy from your profits. It is the cash flow game again. If you have to do credit, then you don’t need it.
9. “THE NEED FOR HEROS” As kids, we have heroes. A little boy playing baseball may pretend to be Yogi. During a basket ball game, a kid might think of Michael Jordan. I used to dream of I was Dorothy Hamill when I would ice skate. Heroes inspire us. They make it look easy and that convinces us to want to be just like them. Many people this investing is too hard. Find a hero who makes it look easy.
10. “TEACH AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE” He has one simple idea. “Whenever you feel ‘short’ or in ‘need’ of something, give what you want first and it will come back in buckets. That is true for money , a smile, love, friendship.” This is so true. Try it.

This is a great book. It will give you a great insight on how people with money think and act. Read this book. It can get you thinking about your beliefs about money. There is another side to the money story. You deserve to open yourself to all financial possibilities.

Blessings,
